Structures and functions of blood producing organs; mechanisms of erythropoiesis, leucopoiesis and thrombopoiesis and blood coagulation; importance of blood groups, blood components and basic principles of blood transfusion; body responses to infection, inflammation and immunization; morphology, properties, classification and identification of medically important bacteria, virus, fungi and parasites, including pathogenesis, pathology, epidemiology, disease prevention and control; basic principles of drugs used in hematological disorders and infectious diseases.
