SUT Executives Visit Walailak University to Explore Transition from Trimester to Semester System
On June 16, 2025, at the Chor Pradu Meeting Room, Chulabhorn Walailak Medical Center Building, Walailak University hosted a study visit for executives from Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), led by Associate Professor Dr. Anan Tongraar, President of SUT. The purpose of the visit was to exchange knowledge and experiences regarding academic management systems.
Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, presided over the welcoming session. He was joined by Associate Professor Dr. Charun Bunyakan, Vice President, and Assistant Professor Dr. Neeranat Kaewprasert Rakangthong, Director of the Center for Educational Services, who provided a comprehensive overview and engaged in discussions with the visiting delegation.
The primary objective of the visit was to explore the transition from the trimester system to the semester system in higher education management. Walailak University has officially adopted the semester system since the 2024 academic year, aligning with national and international educational standards.
During the presentation, Assistant Professor Dr. Neeranat elaborated on the principles and implementation of the semester system, emphasizing its alignment with the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF), which supports enhanced teaching quality and systematic student development.
In addition to the academic exchange, the delegation from SUT had the opportunity to learn about the operations of Walailak University Hospital, tour its facilities, and visit key areas around the university before concluding the visit in the afternoon.
