Walailak University Organizes “Get to Know TCAS 69 First” Event for Over 3,800 Southern Thai Students and Educators
On July 29, 2025, the Center for Educational Services at Walailak University hosted the event “Get to Know TCAS 69 First with Walailak University” at the Main Auditorium, Thai Buri Building, and Lecture Buildings 3 and 5. The event welcomed over 3,800 participants, including high school students from across Southern Thailand, guidance counselors, and school administrators.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, who also delivered a special keynote titled “The Right Future Begins at Walailak.” His inspiring talk aimed to guide students toward pursuing higher education.
A highlight of the event was a special lecture by Associate Professor Dr. Chalee Charoenlapnopparat, TCAS System Manager of the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT). His session, “Understanding the TCAS 69 System,” covered key updates and innovations, especially the new Center Live Portfolio system. This tool enables students to automatically generate standardized digital portfolios, reducing costs and ensuring alignment with CUPT requirements, significantly aiding applicants in the TCAS 69 Portfolio Round.
In the afternoon, students participated in the Walailak Open House, featuring all 53 academic programs available for the 2026 academic year. Attendees received detailed information about each program, professional guidance on creating standout portfolios, and in some cases, had the opportunity to apply and interview on-site.
This event marked a significant step in helping students confidently plan their educational pathways, deepening their understanding of the university admissions process. It also served to strengthen collaborative ties between Walailak University and educational institutions across Southern Thailand, facilitated through the active engagement of teachers and school leaders.
