Packed Halls! Over 4,000 Students from Across Southern Thailand Join Walailak University’s “Get Ahead with TCAS70” Event

Walailak University welcomed more than 4,000 upper secondary school students, guidance counselors, and school administrators from across Southern Thailand to its major university admissions preparation event, “Get Ahead with TCAS70 at Walailak University.” The overwhelming turnout reflected strong interest among students seeking the latest information on the TCAS admission system and preparing strategically for their higher education journey.

On 17 July 2026, the Center for Educational Services (CES), Walailak University, organized the event across several venues on campus, including the Main Auditorium at Thaiburi Building and Lecture Buildings 3, 5, and 7. The event provided students with in-depth information about Thailand’s university admission system, along with comprehensive guidance on how to prepare for the upcoming admission cycle.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, who also delivered a special talk entitled “Turning Your Dreams into Reality with Walailak University.” His presentation offered perspectives and inspiration to help students make informed decisions about their educational pathways and move confidently toward their future goals.

One of the major highlights was a presentation by Associate Professor Dr. Chalie Charoenlarpnopparut, TCAS System Manager of the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT), entitled “Getting to Know TCAS70.” The session provided the latest updates and changes to the TCAS system, with particular emphasis on the development of TCAS Portfolio, which enables students to create their portfolios automatically, reduce preparation costs, and follow CUPT standards. The system is designed to make the application process more convenient and help students prepare effectively for the Portfolio round of TCAS70.

Following the session, Assistant Professor Dr. Neeranart Kaewprasert Rakhangthong, Director of the Center for Educational Services, shared valuable application strategies in a session entitled “Top Secret: Which Admission Round Is Best for You and How to Apply to All Programs for Free.” She provided practical guidance on choosing the most appropriate admission round based on each applicant’s strengths and potential, helping students develop effective application strategies and increase their chances of university admission.

In the afternoon, students participated in the Walailak Open House, where they explored 58 academic programs available for Academic Year 2027. Faculty members and current students from the University’s various schools provided personalized guidance on program selection and professional portfolio preparation. Some academic programs also offered students the opportunity to submit applications and participate in admission interviews directly at the event.

The “Get Ahead with TCAS70 at Walailak University” event served as an important platform for students to prepare confidently for university admissions while developing a clear and accurate understanding of the TCAS system. The event also strengthened collaboration between Walailak University and schools throughout Southern Thailand through the active participation of guidance counselors and school administrators.
